The North Valley Animal Disaster Group is part of the Oiled Wildlife Care Network (OWCN).
This is an exciting development!
The Oiled Wildlife Care Network (OWCN) is recognized as a world leader in oil spill response, rescue, rehabilitation and research, and is an outstanding example of what’s possible when diverse institutions and organizations work collaboratively toward a common goal. It just makes sense that NVADG trained volunteers would make great OWCN volunteers.
NVADG’s OWCN-trained volunteers will provide rapid, cooperative response in the event of an inland waterway spill. Our area has many oil-laden railcars traversing tracks that run along our rivers, lakes and streams. An inland waterway spill is very possible.
Training is coordinated exclusively through OWCN. There are specific processes for training and activation.

NVADG volunteers who have attended NVADG training can sign-up for OWCN training; we’ll connect you with the requirements and links. NVADG volunteers should email our Oiled Wildlife Care Network Coordinator to get more information.
